Director of Sales and Business Development .

Boston - United States Competitive Salary

Role Overview:

Our client are currently transforming their commercial organization to increase their presence in the USA and Europe and are currently looking to hire exceptional and experienced Business Development Directors from a CDMO background and who have a track record of achieving and succeeding their sales targets.

As BD Directors for the assigned territory, you will be fully accountable for the achievement of financial/ Sales targets for your Territory. You will meet and exceed your targets by leveraging your previous experience in this industry and your skills in building strong relationships, co-ordinate with the India based scientific / technical / proposal response teams and your creativity in closing business opportunities.

 

Key Responsiiblities:

  • Accountability and oversight for your territory, developing strategies and priorities to optimize all opportunities to meet targets.  
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with our customers, by fully understanding their needs and ways of working and tailoring approaches accordingly.
  • Building robust customer insight, and staying abreast of industry shifts to help the company define new service offerings based on future demand.
  • Work collaboratively with Divisional, Operating Units and other BD Directors.
  • Updating SalesForce and providing reports as required to the VP of Sales, Development & Manufacturing.
  • High quality and timely submission of all RFx’s per protocols.
  • Negotiate contracts with customers.
  • Professionally represent our company at tradeshows, conferences, and networking events (50% travel).

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in relevant scientific field. (An MBA or PhD in relevant scientific field is desirable).
  • Minimum 3-5 years sales experience in a CDMO.
  • Demonstrable experience and track record relating to delivering and exceeding sales targets consistently over a sustained period.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful customer relationships, and sales successes in teams in a CDMO.
  • Has managed annual sales targets of $5-$7m.
  • Selling CMC development and manufacturing deals.  

 

(This is a remote position for the following territories: North East, Mid West, South West)
