Job Description: Reporting directly to the CEO, and as a member of the company’s Management Board, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will:

• Help set company research and scientific priorities so that they align with the companies overall mission and key development goals.

• S/he will drive improvement and expansion of  research and engineering activities that are focused on innovation in field of point of care / IVD/ laboratory diagnostics.

• Be visionary to implement technical advancements in mobile health, digital connectivity, and patient/doctor friendly data applications

• Drive the implementation of the IVDR throughout the technical teams in conjunction with the QA /RA team.

• The incumbent will define and implement product development processes in conjunction with the program management, scientific team and the QA/RA team, that increase the success rate of projects in the companies innovation funnel and ultimately deliver the best technology platform for our customers

• Partner with CBO/CEO and external scientific advisory board (SAB) to develop a science and technology innovation strategy aligned with the companies growth strategy.

• Oversee the development of new products, including partnerships with Contract Development Manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) with a focus on microfluidics, lab-on-chip diagnostics, point of care instrumentation and IVD analyzers.

• The CTO will be an industry expert and liaise with stakeholders internal and external to the business to drive related organizational capabilities, products, and technology-enabled services with the goal of maintaining and enhancing the companies competitive position and profitability and adding value to our customers and shareholders.

• The incumbent will stay updated on technological advances and industry trends withing Molecular Diagnostics, which allows them to advise the organization's Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors in technology matters. This may include making recommendations on future projects, such as new research opportunities or technological ventures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Ph.D. level scientist / engineer with a minimum of 12 years of industry experience in medical devices. Life sciences, diagnostics or related additional industry or academic experience is desirable. 

• Candidate should also have significant experience with research and publication. Grant writing and fundraising experience is desirable.

• A combination of excellent science and business know-how, as well as the ability to align company functions with the scientific and innovation mission and vision.
