Vice President of Operations.

This role requires extensive knowledge of the life science consumables industry, operational finances and strong leadership qualities.

Using his/her expertise in operations and building and directing teams, the VP, Operations will manage multiple departments for the manufacture, distribution, and support of over 500 catalog and custom life science consumable products. The VP will work closely with other functional leaders to ensure timelines, deliverables, and business operations are aligned and strategic objectives are met.

This role requires a strong and effective change agent with proven leadership skills and dedication to achieving operational excellence.

Description of Duties: • Provide leadership and direct management of Manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Sciences, and Facilities functions, building the organizational capabilities required by ongoing business growth and ensuring uninterrupted quality and availability of Vector products • Provide strategic and technical leadership to develop and execute a road map to achieve long term scalability, quality, and cost imperatives in line with the company strategy while ensuring alignment of approach with company mission and values • Improve efficiency through automation, scaleup, and other process improvements for sustained growth of the business; identify activities to manage costs, improve processes and increase efficiency while maintaining or improving the quality of products. • Build high performing teams through a combination of mentoring and developing junior managers to reinforce a culture of accountability and collaboration as well as bringing in top talent that adds to our diverse workforce and deep expertise in best practices. • Direct all operations management including resource management, planning and budgeting to meet catalog and custom product demand. • Develop processes and tools to trend metrics and provide actionable information to monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement • Collaborate with other senior leaders and critical customers to support forecasted revenue growth, new product introduction and obsolescence, and alignment on company strategy and priorities • Utilize leadership skills to manage interdepartmental communications and drive continued improvement in schedule readiness and schedule adherence. • Champion key operational excellence initiatives including implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and other continuous process improvement programs. • Grow and maintain a culture of safety awareness

Job Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, with an advanced degree such as MS, PhD or advanced business skill preferred • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant manufacturing management experience • Knowledge of protein purification, bioconjugation and formulation strongly preferred • Experience as a cross-functional leader with demonstrated results in creating value across operations and achieving strategic imperatives • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and execute multiple initiatives within established timelines • Ability to hire, train, and develop employees to build and maintain high performing teams while upholding Vector’s unique culture • Management of manufacturing at a minimum of ISO9001:2015 requirements • Experience with ERP/MRP systems required; NetSuite expertise strongly preferred • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills • Demonstrated influencer, including cross functionally and senior leaders
