Logistics Operations Manager.

London - United Kingdom Depending on Experience

Charlton Morris are representing a leading supplier of premium diagnostic testing services based in central London. They currently provide testing services to businesses within the aviation, cruise, private healthcare, and film/TV industries and they are adding direct to consumer services to the service portfolio in later this year.


Job Brief


The Logistics Operations Manager will manage and supervise the purchase shipping, booking in and storage of goods from manufacturers and suppliers. In addition, the role will require arranging shipment of goods to business customers both in the UK, Europe and South America . The successful candidate will ensure the company obtains quality products at competitive prices in a timely fashion. Of prime importance will be to ensure the company sources products from approved suppliers and obtains value across the supply chain.

It is essential that you have experience within Customs, working with both international and road freight companies and have a good background in logistics and/or procurement. 

Objectives of this Role


• Planning and overseeing incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as managing the inventory

• Overseeing logistics, warehouse and transport services

• Evaluating outsourced warehousing, pick and pack.

• Liaising with internal business units to determine their project and service needs

• Monitoring business trends and product availability to ensure continuity of supply at market

prices for high demand products globally.

• Nurturing relationships with strategic suppliers

• Identifying and sourcing new suppliers

• Researching new products and services to add value to the company’s portfolio

• Assessing supplier spends

• Reviewing existing procurement workflows.

• Ensuring high stock levels are maintained for critical products and accessories

• Managing cold chain logistics and working with strategic courier companies.

• Building relationships with Customs Clearance.



• Experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations

• Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong team player

• Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports

• Exceptional organisational, analytical skills and strategic planning abilities

• Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, transportation, or engineering would be an advantage as would a masters degree
